April Fool's Day eh? is there still a rule that you can't pull pranks after 12 noon?
The Eastlink Cable guy got here right on the dot of 8! How rare is that when they say they'll be here between 8 and 10. He said his other morning appointments were only told "a.m." and i was his only "8 - 10". Anyway, my phone is now switched to Eastlink and my Primus long distance appears to be working as well according to the toll free number i had to dial to check. Take *that* Aliant. I've felt iffy about them since last year when their staff was out on strike for 4 months. I"m not a big union supporter but i *do* know how it feels to be out on strike and have your employer dick you around (and have the union dick you around as well. Everyone has an agenda when those things happen).
Terri Schiavo died yesterday. In today's Daily News, the editorial cartoon showed a young, beautiful woman at the pearly gates, wtih the broken Debra in a wheelchair. St. Peter is pointing to the angel and saying "She;s been waiting for you for 15 years". *gulp*

Dammit,
kixie, your post about nostalgia this morning must have had more effect than i realized LOL The lure of a bin of $4.99 dvds sucked me in today, not only were the movies $4.99, they had two movies on a double sided disk for that. And they were all B, C and D movies from the 60's and 70's, most of which i'd never heard of.
But.....
A blast from the past stood up on the top of the heap and beckoned. It's "Go Ask Alice" from 1973. This is about a teenage girl who gets hooked on drugs after succumbing to peer pressure. I remembered liking it but had never seen it since then i don't think. There it was! And did you know it was an Andy Griffith movie? I didn't remember that but when i saw the dvd cover, it rings a bell. What doesn't ring a bell was the fact that Bill Shatner is in it too! This has *got* to be a laugh if nothing else. The other movie on the disk is The Strangers In 7A, another Andy Griffith movie from 1972 and is about a middle age couple who meet a young woman who is interested in renting an apartment and they then get taken hostage by a group of young hooligans that arrive uninvited. I expect lots of teeth gnashing and eye bulging from this one. It'll be interesting to see if Alice is as good as i thought it was back then.
The other movie i bought, for $12.99 is Excalibur. I love it, cheesy and overdone though it is. It'll make a nice contrast to Mists of Avalon, don't you think ? :)
