Lovely day with my friend and her sister. Their flight was delayed an hour but we still had loads of time since she didn't have to be back to the airport until after 7 p.m. Only thing is, she gave me a flight number that didnt' exist anymore, Air Canada probably changed it. Then of course there *was* no flight landing from Ottawa but there was one from Toronto and one from Montreal and it was the Montreal flight they were on. Montreal is only 2 hours drive from Ottawa and it worked out better for them even with the 7 hour layover in Halifax.

No problem. We drove to the Citadel as their first choice of stops and poked around there for awhile including the tour they do. We then headed downhill to the waterfront and walked back and forth there, checking out a few shops, taking photos of lobsters. We had a nice late lunch/early supper in Tug's Pub and they wouldn't let me pay for my meal. A little further along the way there is a lovely shop called Rumrunners selling the most delicious rum cakes you ever wrapped your lips around! They have a regular one, a chocolate one (!) and a whiskey cake. They were all really good judging from the samples. Mary Sue asked me which was my favourite... uh oh i know where this is going. Yep, she bought me one. A chocolate rum cake!!!

Anyway, i drove them back to the airport for about 7 and came home and relaxed.

But the best news is... Dad is coming home from hospital on Monday!!! His physiotherapist even had him going up a few stairs today in preparation for the 6 or 8 he has to go up to get into the house. We'll all go over for Father's Day sunday *note to self, get a gift bag for his pressies, got the card already* and then he's home on Monday. He'll get so much more sleep and rest at home and though he's weak, he can get around ok without a walker or a cane. Mom is getting him a whistle to have around his neck if he needs her because his voice is so faint and hoarse she's afraid she wouldn't hear him if he needs her. He'll also have a little bell for when he's sat in his new recliner chair. He'll probably sleep in that for awhile because it makes him cough still to lie flat. I asked Mom if she was going to sleep on the couch beside him lol Anyway it's the best news and it's all uphill from here!
