cut for snake squickiness )

There's a pumpkin regatta on the river in the Annapolis Valley (this weekend? Next?). They hollow out these giant pumpkins and go floating and racing on the river. Martha Stewart was going to come and do it with her tv crew for her new show but she's not allowed in Canada because she's got a criminal record! She'd have to have a special visa and can't get it in time! And that's not a good thing. *snort*

Dad seemed not too bad when i left yesterday. I'll check later today to see how he's getting on. He wasn't quite as dizzy and wobbly though he needed some help getting up and getting balanced before going down the hall to the bathroom or bed. After all he had been through, he really didn't need this but it was an accident and yes, it could have happened to him anytime. People trip and fall. I certainly do and have the scarred knees to show for it. With me, it's my ankle that gives way and i pitch forward onto my hands and knees. I'm probably lucky i've never broken an arm. We just don't dwell on what *could* have happened because it didn't.

If someone you don't know posts a comment on your LJ something like
"Hi! I found info about you at this link : http://www.livejournal.com/community/lj_abuse/2647623.html!"
do NOT click on the link. Apparently it takes you to a site that will then try to download a trojan virus on to your machine. that link there is a real link to the abuse team so don't worry about accidentally clicking but it should appear something like that. It's been reported to the LJ abuse team but i don't know if or what they will do about it at present. Just be careful out there boys and girls.

Now there's a CD i haven't played in ages!!! (Afghan Whigs). I was looking for the one i have by the Irish Celtic Band, Planxty and i found this. And i do love this cd. It was originally described to me as music that starts off "evening" and finishes "late night" and that describes it perfectly.

I may have sold a painting to someone that isn't family! :D I painted a larger version of a Corrie themed photo, one i'd painted as a 5x7 originally. There was another one i did around the same time that i sold to the prize patrol for a raffle at the corrie get togethers i go to (for cost) and the woman that won it always wanted the other one which wasn't for sale at the time. She said if i was ever to sell it to give her first chance. Well since i've done another one, larger, for myself, i emailed her and told her i'd ask $25 for it. I hope that isn't too much but it did take a bit of time and effort. Link to the painting. I haven't heard back from her but i only just replied to her email when i got home from work. I think 25 is reasonable for a 5x7 and probably could get more but i just feel that's pushing it. Mom bought a small one from me for that and thought it was well worth it.
