Moving Day
Apr. 18th, 2006 09:42 amAll the new workstations are up and it really does look like a cube farm now! All my boxes were stacked in my station, my little cabinet was here too and my puter was put together though not connected to the network. S'ok. I know how to plug in a cable ;) Keyboard trays are not installed yet but they will be and i've got everything unpacked. It looks like someone lives here now! Have taken photos and will post them tonight. Should have brought my usb cable but i forgot it. The tower for the pc was on the floor and i think i'll leave it there because i have more room on the desk. The woman in charge of the move even left us all a little bag of easter eggs! On the end of each aisle there are signs as to who sits down that area. The one next to me is signed "George, John, Paul, Ritchie (with "Ritchie" crossed out and "Ringo" added below!) The small "hotel" stations have signs on them "Confession #1" *snork*. I have two high-ish walls and two lowish walls but they're high enough that when sitting i feel like there's a bit of privacy. It's rather nice actually though we didn't keep hold of the coat hanging post thinking there would be no room for it and there is a spot. I had an over the door type hanger though so i can use that. Our former coatroom has the photocopier in it now. And i am not not right by the window so hopefully i won't be so cold all the time.
Not quite the chaos i anticipated but it's going to take some getting used to where everyone is sitting now. We have a little floor plan so i am going to walk around and see if everyone is in the same spot as what was on that.
Today i have to run over to the bank and get some pounds sterling. Probably run to Blue cross today or tomorrow too to put in my receipts. That's just across the street in back of the office complex.
