Why would anyone be running the vaccuum at 6:30 a.m.? I didn't mind because i was already awake and it seemed to be coming from next door not overhead so i might not have heard it anyway if i'd been asleep. I expect something got spilled or knocked over.

First day of a two day re-take for the CSS course that was not very good last time around. It is much better this time, with proper course materials and a good instructor.

Met up with some friends i've known since school for a few drinks and a bite to eat after work yesterday. We were six by the end of the evening but started off as two and slowly multiplied over time. Most of us women have known each other since junior high school and a couple even longer. The men all joined the group in high school but most of them had known each other for years as well. They lived in a different area of the city and had gone to different junior high schools than we did. The girls all joined up the yearbook committee, a few of the boys did and the rest of the boys were involved in a computer club. We shared our office space with them so that's how we all started hanging out together. The computer they used was a remote terminal, keyboard and line printer only, that was connected to a mainframe at one of the universities. After we graduated high school, we scattered to various post-secondary instutions or got jobs and a few more people joined the crowd and we've mostly all pretty much kept in touch ever since. Not as much these days when most have families and busy jobs and lives but we generally manage to touch base once or twice a year at least and individuals do keep touch with other individuals as well. It's really nice to know you've got people that have known you for that long. These aren't necessarily my best friends but i've known them most of my life.

One more day for that course and i have to take my new camera back to Future Shop after work and retrieve my repaired camera. I wonder if they even found anything wrong with it? Sometimes i wonder if the autofocus problem was something i was doing wrong though after 2 years, it seems odd that it was only recently i've been having the problem so we'll see.

Bargoons

Scored a few deals at the mall today. I picked up my camera, first and that all went very smoothly other than a bit of a wait for someone to bring it out. They returned the newer camera after checking it over but without a blink of objection. I did notice that the clerk put a special sticker on the box with a price of 20 dollars cheaper than what i bought it for. I bet they're re-selling it as "refurbished" or a "demo" model. I also picked up a spindle of 75 dvd-r's for 20 dollars, which is pretty good. Over to the mall and i picked up some soaps in Lush and got a Free bottle of Cynthia Stout shampoo :) I love that F word! Got three tops in Cotton Ginny for 10 dollars each and three pairs of socks for 3 dollars each, cheaper even than their usual 3/10$ deal. I picked up a couple of things in Zellers, mainly i wanted to get these particular special garbage bags that resist punctures so i could store the pieces of my artificial Christmas tree in it. Picked those up, some milk, some English muffins and some video tapes and took them to the cashier. They rung in awfully cheap so i questioned it. She forgot something. Still seemed kind of cheap but i didn't say anything. Got home and looked at the receipt. Aha, she forgot to ring in the garbage bags. *looks* Wanna guess why? Yep, she didn't ring them in because she didn't see them i guess, they weren't in the bags! Ah well, i have to get some groceries tomorrow so i'll get them then. I was going to take the tree down tonight but i will wait, enjoy the lights one last evening.

God, i wish i had another arm. It's such a nuisance carrying all those bags around even though i at least had a canvas carrier bag and could fit a lot of stuff in that. And it was warm slogging through the mall in a winter coat. Mind you, it's warm outside too. Anyway i'm home now. I'll put some laundry on later and make a cuppa. I think a bag of popcorn is calling my name.
