Interesting.....
May. 10th, 2007 07:37 amThe shop where i bought my camera has the camera in a flyer this week, for $428.88!!! I don't know what they were charging for it when i bought mine. The clerk over the phone said it was close to $400 but when i brought in proof of The Source selling the same model for $299, they met that price. It was also in a Future Shop flyer that week for $329. This is definitely the same model, at least that's the model number they printed. The thing is, they told me they only had about 6 left in that store anyway and it *is* a discontinued model. I wonder if the model number is a misprint, and it's a newer version of the same camera, which would make more sense. Why put it in an advertisement flyer that covers all their branches in the Maritimes, not just the one i went to, if there isn't that many left floating around?
Did you know that Rupert Murdoch owns MySpace? He owns or controls the corporation, News Corp. that owns 20th Century Fox, the Fox tv network, Fox News, lots of newspapers and MySpace! So all you MySpace users are contributing to the coffers of one of the world's richest men!
Toronto is about to lose it's status as home to the world's tallest freestanding structure. The CN Tower will no longer be king. The Burj Dubai is under construction and will pass the CN Tower's 553 metre height probably within a few months and they aren't saying how tall it's going to get though there are rumours of 800 - 1000 metres. The photos of it? It looks like something you've seen in SciFi posters of futuristic cities. Luxury residential suites, corporate offices, four pools, fitness center, restaurants, a mall, you could live there, work there and you wouldn't have to leave the building! Actually the mall is going to be built around the base of the tower so it's actually going to be part of the complex but not the tower itself and that mall will be three times the size of the West Edmonton Mall, currently the world's largest. There's an even taller building that's proposed for the Dubai waterfront, too! I don't know. It's one thing to visit a viewing platform or have a restaurant at the top, but would you really want to be living a kilometre in the air? The proposed tower could be as high as 1200 metres high and that's *down* from an initial estimate of 1600 metres which is nearly a mile! *shakes head*
