May. 3rd, 2014 10:08 amI left my ereader on my desk at work. Arrgh. It'll be ok but I miss it. I guess i can use that excuse as a reason to dig into my unread magazine pile. I get a few of them on subscription but they stack up for ages before I get around to reading them. They're mostly travel mags and i love the photos. Often will see reference to a place I'd like to visit. I did go through two last night, one is a tourism magazine for Britian and in it was an article on Shakespeare related places. They showed a picture of a medeival hall about an hour drive from Manchester so that's on the list for a possible road trip sometime.
Having said that, I suppose once we're married and he's living here, we won't get to Manchester as often though I'm not planning to avoid the place because both of us still have friends there and he's got family in Ipswich, another area I've never been. We've still not done our Scotland road trip either and there's still plenty of areas in the UK neither of us have been. Once G. is living here, we won't be restricted to 2 week vacation periods so a 3 week holiday driving all over the place would be great.
Yes, folks, we will start to plan a wedding, probably this time next year in order to save for it and plan it properly. He won't be moving here straight away because of two things. One is that it's smoother and less complicated if he goes back and applies from outside the country. The other thing is that he will need a doctor due to diabetes and I can't get him covered under my work medical insurance if he's not a permanant resident. These are important things to consider.
Back to the magazines, I also looked through a National Geographic Traveller and came across a special offer for a dvd/digital download for a Travel Photography lecture series. It was on sale from 79.99 to 29.99, or 27.99 if you chose digital only. Wahey! You can stream them or download them or both if you want, you can get it for iOS or a format that will play on Android (I think, wmv? will that work on Android? doesn't matter, I won't be playing it on my phone anyway).
