Pizza and a movie

tvordljHot sunny day here. I went to sort out a refund cheque at the medical insurance, then walked to Spring Garden Road to put it in the bank. SGR is a very cool street in Halifax, shops, cafes, pubs, parks, you name it. While there i decided to pop into the box office for the Atlantic Film Festival. I had it in mind to attend a few showings this year, well, every year but i never get around to it. This year, having perused the offerings at http://www.atlanticflim.com i decided i wanted to see David Cronenburg's Spider starring Ralph Fiennes, a series of International short films (the one on Friday Sept. 20 if you are looking on the website) and the showing of Scotland Pa. after that. Spider is shown during one of the Gala nights at a hotel where there will be entertainment afterwards (no idea if there is free drinks, probably not). So three movies, possibly a fourth but i'll wait until the date to see if i feel like yet another movie.
Leaving the box office, i walk back down towards my office building, pop into the library to see if they have Possession by A. S. Byatt which i want to reread now i've seen the movie. They didn't. Must check the bookstore because they sometimes rerelease books with a movie. Stopped into "pizza corner" for a slice to take back to the office. So called due to the pizza shops on three of the four corners of the intersection, all selling large slices, sub sandwiches, donairs (similar to UK Doner kebabs, different sauce here) etc. Late night after the bars close this is where everyone heads downtown for a late night nosh.
So here i sit, munching my nearly cold, quite peppery (spice) veggie pizza and wishing i could have sat out in the park all afternoon and really looking forward to the film festival movies. I emailed Tracey to see if she wants to go but haven't heard back. I got my tickets anyway so as not to lose out. :)
