Decided to go all the way, go big or go home, changing my name everywhere. I went to the passport office after work on Monday and was told that i could run into difficulty if i was found to be traveling with ID in two different names, not that I've ever had the rest of my ID checked but it would be just typical this time. Anyway, I thought i could change my health card and blue cross insurance card as the most likely other pieces of ID i would travel with. Then emailed the Immigration consultant to find out *if* i changed it, what all would I have to fill out or send him etc. I thought he told me i'd have to fill out twice the forms etc. but then he emails back and says as a Canadian citizen, regardless of my name, I am entitled to sponsor whomever I want. It didn't seem to make any difference now, though he did say to give him photo copies of name changed stuff. That's fine. I'll copy my drivers' license, passport, social insurance number, possibly bank details with account numbers blanked out. I decided to change my name at the bank and at work and I will get a letter from HR to note the change. I can include that.

So it's all started. I will need to get a new security access id at work as well. Going to the bank after work to do that and have a new bank card and Visa card sent from them. That Visa card is just my backup card anyway. I don't use it much or have anything coming off there as an automatic payment. Oh maybe one thing, a magazine subscription service which I can easily change. I've already called to change my health card and can go to the federal government access center for the S.I.N. card change.

Long list. Tick, tick, tick. I've been changing online names all along. The worst ones so far have been Aeroplan and the British Airways points program. I email copies of the marriage cert. and it seems to take weeks and weeks for them to do it according to their website. And of course, since I'm traveling in September, it will be a close shave. I know, i can get the points awarded afterwards. BA is pretty easy for that but Aeroplan seems to be more challenging. Red tape. Bleurgh.

We're looking into day trips when I go to the UK in September. Blackpool (his choice), Snake Pass in the Peaks (mine), Northumberland (taking a friend, his suggestion for destination), Might fit in an overnight to Portmeirion and i had thought I'd like to do a day trip by train to Liverpool as well. Plus a last visit to the Corrie set tour, the UK wedding bash, meeting up with friends. Don't know if we'll fit it all in. Liverpool might have to be dropped. I've been there once and G. isn't fussed about it. We don't want to be on the go every single day. Downtime is necessary! Mooching around Manchester, shopping, taking in a movie. We won't get to London this trip.
