Feb. 19th, 2004 06:13 pmHoly Hannah it's still blowing and coming down. All roads in the province of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island are shut except for emergency vehicles. Everything will be shut tomorrow too. But... the train got out today (the passenger one to Montreal). And the harbour ferry was and is still running!!!!! I'm shocked! Can't imagine many are on it! It's pretty windy, they usually dont' run in that though visibility isn't as much of a problem as they use radar anyway. They're telling us schools, universities and government non-essentials are home again tomorrow too.
So far we still have power. That's the only thing that's saved my sanity lol even though I can't go out, i don't feel as isolated as i did the day after the hurricane. The scenes they have been showing on the news are amazing. The wind is still gusting to 100 KM and it's stil a wall of white out my window. It's getting dark though so i might as well close the curtains. I have found my flashlight and made sure there's batteries anyway.
We've had over 70 cm of snow in less than 24 hours and we're due to get 10-15 more by the time it ends overnight with winds still high tomorrow.
And yes. they did predict it :)
