[livejournal.com profile] blueberrymoon's book launch looked to be a resounding success! Lovely yummy food and friendly chatty people. Attendees to the event were myself, [livejournal.com profile] sammantha, our Mom, [livejournal.com profile] browncoweyes, [livejournal.com profile] hellocity, [livejournal.com profile] teaone and [livejournal.com profile] wyndancyr got there late. I'm sure she'll tell you all about it later. The book is lovely, and i can see lots of things i want to try. It was great meeting [livejournal.com profile] blueberrymoon too! a few of us went to the Henry House for a lovely meal. I always like that place. It used to be called the Henry House and is a heritage property from 1834. It was Ginger's for awhile in the 70's and then the Granite Brewery for years and h as reverted to the Henry House recently.

One other coinkydink too... one woman thought she recognized me. Turned out i worked with her sister at the Power company over 20 years ago. But in the process of trying to figure out how another woman knew me or thought she did (i have that kind of face apparently Lol) it turns out where i worked in high school, so did the first woman!

Stopped in to get Tracey's dog inside... she kept running away from me, but i got her in the house and in the basement. She knows me but doesn't really know me. I have to go down there tomorrow and give her her breakfast and then let her out too.

a few pics here from the ladies who launch ;)

It's funny, D. I was home a few years ago, and went to Bingo in Cole Harbour Place with my sister. I strolled up to the snackbar to get a drink of pop, and this lady behind the counter gets all excited. She says she knows me, and that we were good friends in elementary school. Now, I have a pretty good memory, whether I remember your face and/or your name, but for the life of Riley, I could not remember her at all. She says she has lots and lots of pictures of me and us in her photo albums at home. I'm totally stumped, and starting to think I'm going senile. This has never happened to me before.

So, I ask what her name was back then. She told me........still nothing! Damn. Yet, she knew my maiden name right off the bat. Totally frustrated me, and I think her too, that I did not remember either her, her name, or anything at all about her. Come to find out we were only in kindergarten class together. She moved in grade 1. How the hell do you remember your friends from that far back??? She must have had an awesome memory!!! Was a little embarrassing though. Hope that never happens again.

I think Donna resembles Alexa McDonough. Looks like you had a great time though! Maybe it's the grinning that gives it away.
