While most parts of Canada get snow earlier than this, it's not that common for us in Halifax to get a storm this early in the season. what was forecast as about 10 cm of snow *inland* and rain here on the coast has dumped 15 cm on the coast overnight and more elsewhere. Schools over much of the province are shut today though i've seen it worse and them be open. The main roads and bus routes are cleared but not in great condition. Traffic wasn't too bad but i came in on an earlier bus to accomodate delays, and i normally leave pretty early anyway. Scarves, gloves, boots, heavy coats, foggy specs. I considered working from home but there are a few things i may need to be here this afternoon for.

Overheard someone grumbling about commuting in it and a passerby cheerfully commented "Oh c'mon, puts hair on your chest!" Good thing it doesn't really, or we Canadians would be a pretty hirsute nation, what with the weather extremes we can get. But at least, it gives us something to talk/complain about, we're famous for that. If you don't know what to talk about there's always the weather. If you don't like what we're getting now, wait 10 minutes because it's bound to change LOL! Winter has arrived.
