... to my credit card!

Taking a break from Javageeking which is, incidentally, going ok. Can't get one function to work which looks like it should be, but i'll figure it out.

Went to the mall after work yesterday as i had in mind to go and scout out winter coats. There's only one store there that has a chance of something that would fit me. I won't go into a rant about trying to get there on the bus (Some days I *spleeeeeeen* the bus). It's usually not that difficult. But i'm not irked now so no point in winding myself up again. I have a winter jacket. It's red and puffy and way too big for me which is amazing in itself, getting something too *big* for me lolol I wanted something that wasn't puffy and thick, maybe one of the gore-tex kind that has a zip out inner lining, the kind you might wear for skiing. But all the ones they had were too small, and too short (why is it women's clothing manufacturers expect us fat people to be between 5'4" and 5'7"? They do make "petite" for shorter people but they don't do anything for us taller chicks! And when you do find trousers long enough, they shrink!!! But i digress....)

Anyway i despaired of finding what i wanted there but wandered around the store to see what else they had. I spotted these coats and tried on the size that might fit and it did. with room but not too big. It's the length we used to call a "car coat", that is, it's about mid thigh length. It's a chocolate brown distressed fake-leather with dark brown furry pile around the collar and cuffs and inside the detachable hood which is reversable, "leather" and "fur". It buttons up the front but has a set of flaps over it that zip. With taxes it was just under $200 (CAD, about £85) so yes, i bought it :) It's not puffy, though it's heavier than my old coat. It should be fairly waterproof against the rain and wind. I'll need a scarf but then i always wear one anyway in the winter and i have a couple of nice ones, a red/white/black plaid wooly one i bought in Ireland and a purple shaggy one a friend made for me for Christmas last year.

I also picked up a couple of long sleeve basic tshirts that were on sale, 2 for 30 dollars, a medium purple and a black, both v neck. And i bought a half dozen fresh bagels and fresh veggie cream cheese. *drool* But i couldn't face the bus again carrying all that so i took a taxi home.
