Yes boys and girls, i did some more Christmas shopping today and got what i set out for. Something for a few of the men in my life ;) I only have a few more to sort out so i'm hoping to have it done by the end of the month or at least mid November. I absolutely detest shopping in December especially at weekends.
Worked on my painting this morning and did my rainbow. I'm not completely happy with it and it's not "transparent" like it should be but it's not too bad. When i went to the mall i came out of the Bay and walked right into an art show and sale by local artists from a few local art societies. Mostly traditional type painints, not much modern/interpretation and various media though mostly oils or acrylics or watercolour. I spoke with some of the reperesentatives of the societies. The Dartmouth one holds workshops once a month for most of the year. The schedule they had showed that most of them this year focused on watercolours but there's one the end of November that's acrylic/mixed media so i may go. They have an instructor that demonstrates things and you can learn a lot. The two women were very nice and i think i will give that a try before i decide if i want to join it or not. They have three general meetings a year, the workshops and they do participate in these art shows. I know that some of the work i've done is as good as some i saw there today and you can go to the workshops without being a member. Even if you're a member it still costs but it's a little less than non members would pay. So anyway i'll call the number in the leaflet and see if i can get a space on the one in November.
