Ok, it's going around, nicked from [livejournal.com profile] sushidog and [livejournal.com profile] kixie so far.
As everyone says i'ts a bit early to do year end memes but i don't think much is going to change between now and Dec. 31


1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Take up oil painting
Attend a wedding in Ireland. (I've done weddings and i've done Ireland but not together lol)
Learned java programming

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes considering my resolution is to try new things

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, one of my best friends, Tracey, had a baby Jan 5.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
one cousin, one step-grandad. A few people i know also lost people close to them.

5. What countries did you visit?
England, Rep. Ireland

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Can't think of anything material. More money is always good. I want more "face" time with my sweetie too.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
July 12. Day Graham and i finally got to "meet" face to face.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Oil painting, having it actually look like a real painting.
Learning Java (well it's still wobbly but it's coming along)

9. What was your biggest failure?
Hmmmm...Not losing a bit of weight i guess (health reasons)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Badly jammed thumb in door.
No major illness, just a few ongoing aggravations.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Digital Camera. Oil painting supplies :)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Niece, learned to drive and got her first job. Nephew, started college. Other Nephew, turning 21 and working towards his career. Sister, working on surviving relationship crash. Lots of friends doing cool, supportive or just goodfriendship type things.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
GW Bush.


14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, Rent. Traveling.


15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Meeting Graham in July. Going to Manchester for New Year. Meeting new LJ friends, online and in person.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
Someone Like You, Van Morrison. So far. There's another song i;ve got to hear when i get to Manchester. That may define 2005 however :)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a) happier or sadder?
Happier
b) thinner or fatter? a little fatter :(

c) richer or poorer? Financially about the same, Emotionally much richer for my life being filled with so many wonderful people.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Sitting at home doing nothing.

Yes.

None

Don't think so

Hmm... Can't really point to one in particular

To catch on to this java stuff easier i guess.

Calendar Girls, Shaun of the Dead

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Taken to lunch by a friend, lots of calls and cards, Saw Corrie Star Sue Cleaver the night before. I was 45

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
being completely free of debts, financially secure enough not to have to work at all

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Casual.

34. What kept you sane?
LJ, friends, [livejournal.com profile] gramie_dee, sense of humour

Clive Owen, Alan Rickman

US Election and the Iraq war

Friends who live away.

Don't be afraid to fall in love. Take the leap. It's better than not trying at all and you might just find your Prince(ss)
