Season 2 of Desparate Housewives starts tonight!

Coronation Street is on for a 5 Hour Omnibus today! CBC has been showing extra episodes while they are in the midst of a labour dispute, having locked out their union members. It's great because we get a bit caught up to the UK broadcasts (currently we had Christmas and New year 2004 this week) but it sure takes up a lot of time! I've got into the habit of watching it through the week so i can miss bits of Sunday's omni if needs. Or catch up on the bits i miss through the week. CBC is notorious for chopping bits of scenes out through the week.

Had to laugh at Vera on Corrie this week, talking about marriage, Line of the day "I believe in mahogany, me"

I also thought that there was some appalling acting (or non-acting) by Kate Ford, particularly when she thought her baby had been stolen. That cheesy grimace, the fake emotions - geeez. Cardboard, anyone? I've tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but man, she was awful IMHO. I can't believe she is still on the show and they are considering cutting talented actors.

The actress that plays Karen acted circles around Kate Ford. She and Simon Gregson/Steve stole the show. He's never been that strong but even he was astounding today and the writing was great! I kept watching and thinking, Karen just doesn't *get* it and she never will.
