Maybe the young woman was just having a really Monday of a Monday morning. Three of us got on the elevator this morning. I pressed the button for my floor and the man for the one before mine. The other person, a woman in her early 20's i think, kind of smiled at me so i assumed she was going to the same floor as mine. He got off and she asked, if i want to go to the fifth floor, i press 5 right? I didn't laugh. I showed admirable restraint. I just sort of nodded very slowly and my expression must have given me away somewhat because she sort of stammered nervously something about guessing that would be right after all or some such. Maybe after the doors closed she was smacking herself for being so stupid, i don't know. She didn't have any problem finding the number for the floor she wanted. We all do it, ask really dumb questions. At least i hope that was the case.

perhaps she was just trying to be friendly I say stupid things sometimes when I am trying to strike up a conversation lol

Well i was rather surprised that she asked it. "Are you new here?" lol Most likely she was kicking herself afterwards.
