Line of the Day: Steve “I wouldn’t trust anyone near my missus.. she’s bonkers!” Later on from Vera about Doreen “If somebody gave her a bike she’d ride it side saddle!” and then from Richard “Never say die, that’s me” (shovel, anyone?)

Not a bad episode. A bit tedious in spots, focused mostly on Peter and Shelley and Sally and Kevin and the departure of Nick and Maria.

Ciaran’s very good at psychologically manipulating Peter but not quite good enough even if it took Steve to put the niggling suspicion in Peter’s mind. Peter grovels *very* well though. How could you resist? Again, kudos for excellent acting on their parts. The pain and hurt radiated from Shelly. And as an aside, I do agree with Shelly, new knickers and bras *do* make you feel better! I did the same thing myself yesterday!

Far as Sally and Kevin goes, I see Ms. Comehere-goaway is at it again. *yawn* How late does Sally eat that Rose has to go to bed right after? Mike going into business with Dev or a cousin? Hmm. I have me doubts, I do. Richard vs. money problems. Hide the shovels everyone. Richard almost had Curly on his side until he tried to bribe him.

Ok. I’m not a fan of Adam Rickett and I didn’t think he’d improved all that much but obviously he’s had enough experience to pull a performance out finally. Shock shock. He was actually good in that scene where he blasted Gail. He should have reminded her how quickly she let Richard move in and years before, when she jumped into the sack with Martin barely weeks after they started getting close. Course, Nick probably doesn’t know about that. It is true that what he does is no business of Gail’s. She doesn’t have to like his choices. I still don’t think he’s very good and I’m very glad he’s gone again.

Even so, Nick sure treated Tyrone like an errant oil spill didn’t he? Shadow of a very nasty side. Wasn’t Tyrone sweet pouring his heart out to Maria at the airport? Awwwwwww! I hate the way they almost always get the flights wrong though. There rarely are night flights going from the UK to Canada.

Did you see the look on Archie’s face when Blanche bellowed his name down the street? “Oh ‘eck, nowhere to hide!!!” I laughed at Ken as Hermione suggesting to Blanche that she move out! Nice to see Roy and Vera defending Fizz. It’s nice that they’ve softened Fizz a bit. She could be a long term character if she wants to be now.

Now. The Name Game. It’s funny that Vera would think Doreen has airs and graces when Vera’s one of the worst snobs when she gets going. Roy’s opinion that the Old Rectory was dignified was all she needed. She thinks Doreen rides a bike side saddle, hope she has the proper saddle to ride aside on her high horse! AND the plate is crooked on her house! Why Doreen and Maxine were all affronted when they were babbling on earlier about being first on the street and trend setting with their house name. First does imply more. I think we’re in for a battle. Vera certainly won the first round! I’m glad we’ve got Vera back on screen for a story. I’ve missed her!
