Who needs electric guitars anyway
Jul. 6th, 2002 10:41 pmSo on the way to the Highland Games we got side tracked by a percussion group who were performing in front of a bank building on the bus route right where we were getting off anyway. WE watched from the other side of the street with others while they banged and rapped and even danced .. they were really good!!! Later they all filed out and down the steet. Follow them? Yep let's! They didn't go very far but crossed over to our side at the intersection then set up again over by the Public Gardens. We stayed until they broke for their break.
Walked over to the grounds where the games were. Clan booths set up, country dancing, children's highland dancing, pipers and pipe bands competing and the heavy events, the caber tossing, the hammer, the 56 pound weight ...etc. Love the cabers! :) We had a beer and watched the country dancing for a bit then walked down to where the free Jazz concerts were set up for the Halifax Jazz Festival. Didn't stay though. Not my kind of music overall but sometimes it's ok.
Back home to doctor Tracey's sunburn with aloe gel and then over to hers for nachos. Lovely day, sunshine for a change, warm but with a lovely breeze so it didnt' get too hot. Off to celebrate Dad's birthday tomorrow.
