Thursday is the new Friday!

Working longer days during the strike does have the advantage of taking Friday off. For now. My driver goes on vacation March 21 so i'll have to make other arrangements. I think i can go with my sister / niece which means i have to get up even earlier and i'll get to work by 6:30. If i decide to go in to the office that early and leaving by 4 or a little after, i probably still could do the 4 day weeks. There doesn't seem to be any end in sight for that damn strike. Next week is the school March break so at least the traffic will be a bit lighter.

The only downside to having a three day weekend is no busses! I'm a bit stuck unless Mom comes and we go out which we likely will over the weekend. Unless i shell out for taxis i don't get too far. Taxis are fine if not going any distance but it still means a taxi both ways. I"m too cheap! I've often taken a taxi home from shopping or the grocery store with my bags but i don't think i'd take one to and from the mall or grocery store. I've picked up a few little things at the drug store in the mall at work and that keeps me going in basics at least.

I don't know what I'd do if we had a strike in Toronto that lasted as long. It might last a day before they're legislated back to work. Let's hope it ends very soon.

Nobody wants to get involved on a legislative aspect. The provincial government is staying out of it. The mayor doesn't care because he's not running in this year's election anyway.

That's exactly what it feels like too. They're back at the table yesterday and today though. So that's something. I'm not getting my hopes up
