Shortly after that last LJ entry I got a call from the surgeon. The man, he say all is well! The way he worded it, though, had me confused. He said there was only a little microscopic bit of cancer left. It sounded as if that was still in my body but yet i knew the cells had been *inside* the uterus which was removed so i had to clarify it. I guess he should have said it all came out with the organs and there was nothing they found outside it. Whatever. He doesn't think there should be any recurrence but they can't guarantee 100% which of course, I know. Yearly followups for 5 years which is the standard. I still see him on the 30th for the 6 week post-op check.
I *know* this kind of recovery takes time but it's still frustrating when I have a day or two where I feel more achy than usual when I haven't really done any more than usual. I was all set to get on the bus this afternoon and browse around the dollar store and pick up a couple of things at the grocery store, just bread and cheese, nothing heavy. Just before i was heading out, I felt kind of crampy and went to the toilet and then felt like my eyes were (as my Nan used to say) like two piss holes in the snow! i.e. tired and burning and i really just wanted to go for a nap. So i did.
I've got plans for Monday and Tuesday. The contractors may be coming on Thursday to reglaze the tub and if they do, i'll be camping out at Mom's for the weekend while it dries. I want to get my hair trimmed before G. gets here and i'm hoping by that time I can at least get a chiro adjustment even if i can't lay on my stomach long enough for a massage. They can do stuff around my neck with my laying on my back or sitting in a chair too, though. They must have other methods for when they do massages for pregnant women.
I also thought I would be reading more but I have been spending most of the day at the puter or watching video or stuff recorded so I'm still only reading in bed at night. Doesn't matter, I just thought i'd read more in the daytime.
