That by the way is a line from "Farewell to Nova Scotia" a song close to my heart for obvious reasons :) Had my sail on the tall ship Silva after work today. Looked like there were a lot of clouds but out the mouth of the harbour it was clear and sunny so i took my chances. Sure enough about half way through the wind pushed the clouds back over the mainland and the harbour was bright and sunny. Nice boat, over 100 footer, three masts. not very many paying punters, about 2 dozen and a couple of lovely looking crew :)))) Took some pictures, the Bluenose II was withing photo distance a few times.
There is so much to see in the harbour, it was really busy today too. Lots of motor boats and out in the mouth of the harbour a lot of small sailboats getting ready for the regatta this weekend. The ferries, and other various craft. Ther'es a marquee set up on the waterfront. This is Halifax's annual birthday celebration weekend with a holiday Monday. there was a band playing, a group of police officers called Blue Thunder. They do a lot of PR tours but they aren't half bad. The lead singer has a good voice but of course they play generally crowd pleasers. Did a nice Del Shannon and ok attempts at Eric Clapton.
There's a blues day there from 3 pm tomorrow . Might take in a bit of that as i do like Blues and blues rock quite a bit. Rattler told me about Afghan Whig's 1965 cd, said it was really something i'd like. Anyone else heard it?
