Ah yes, the airshow. Good day for it, not too hot. Too much cloud cover but blue showed thru a little bit. Ground display uninspiring but took a few pics of shapes and forms instead of whole planes. The Fly show started off with the skyjumping team and right into the REd Arrows. Very impressive! Then of course there's a 2 and a half hour wait before the really good stuff takes to the skies. Helicopter demonstrations, big planes, little ones. A couple of good acrobatic small planes and a short demo of the F16 jets, small and very agile. They remind me of little hornets buzzing about. The F18 Hornet fighter, always very cool and Canada's own precision flying team the Snowbirds. They are always so graceful. Boggles the mind how they can fly so close together, roll, turn, fly this way and that and never break formation when they aren't doing the fancy stuff. They don't actually fly tip to tip, though, they are usuall just a bit above or below the jets to their sides but you can't tell from the ground. They're still bloody close. They have express transit busses to and from so that takes the headache out of the traffic. Here i sit, sipping a Guinness and munching on those licorice "goodies" ... candy coated little licorice bullets. Oddly, not a bad combo.
