Just booked my hotel for London, the Thistle Euston, a short stagger from Euston rail/underground. I've stayed there twice before so i know the place. All the rooms are en suite and though i have not had a single room before, i don't expect grandeur lol. It's a nice hotel though. No breakfast included but i got the booking off www.londontown.com which has fantastic discounts for Thistle hotels and a few others as well. This one is £35 quid a night plus tax!!! Who cares if brekkie isn't included at that price! There's a little diner on Euston road just a block from the train station that does a really good full English. I forget how much it cost but even 5 pounds is still ok when you are paying buttons for the hotel.

The airbus stops at Euston and if i am on the train from Manchester, that goes to EUston. Not sure about if i'm coming in from Birmingham/Rugely area but i'll have a look at the rail website. Doesn't matter. That's what taxi's are for :) The airbus will be handy for leaving on Monday morning, that's the main thing. I can always blow the last of my cash on breakfast at Heathrow. (And at Past Times !!!)

So i've booked it anyway and got a confirmation from the Thistle reservation system. Rar! *bounce*

Attended the International Night at one of the universities, St. Mary's where Tracey works. She got the tickets for free. Dinner is a buffet of various types of food, there was a veg curry, samosas, jerk chicken, a chinese dumpling, tabouli, greek salad, rice. No goat. This was the same event that i went to last year wanting to try the curried goat. My back was recovering from a "spell" and i went to the toilet and stretched and spasmed it something fierce. No goat this time, just a hole in my mouth LOL Uneventful as far as disasters go. Tracey and Steve and her friend Margaret and her fella John went as well and we had a nice evening. In addition to the food there are various entertainments, some singing, a bit of dancing. We didn't stay to the end because it was getting very warm.

Happy Chinese New Year!
