RIP Sadie

There's an old lady that passed away last week. Her name was Sadie Sampson. She was well into her 80's and she was an entertainer. She danced the charleston, she played the accordion and she sang. She and her friends played on the waterfront by the ferry terminal. She performed on the annual Christmas Daddies telethon that raised money for underpriviledged kids for 40 years. She performed for a lot of charities, hospitals, senior's residences and for the public and she was a well known figure about town. She was buried yesterday, wearing a flapper style sequinned dress with a tiara by her head! Now *that's* style!

I was trying to tempt Vancouverites into a ping but i didn't get any response to my posting on a guestbook. However, there was at least one other person from Van. that wanted to meet up. I emailed two others that i knew in the area and one finally replied and she's going to organize something, bless her! ( definition of ping )

Ange and i are mini-pinging in victoria and i'm lunch-pinging with a small group of fab gals while there as well.

Must touch base with cousin L. for phone number and the logistics of meeting up on the day i get to Vancouver.

Now have scanned charts that prove i am distant cousins on several levels to my first cousin Gayle's husband who is from PEI as was my maternal grandmother's line.

Still haven't restocked the fridge or freezer. Tells you how much of a priority cooking is in my house lol In my nice newly cleaned freezer at the moment are: 1 frozen pizza, 1 well used packet of frozen brussel sprouts (used because i use that for an ice pack for my back) and 1/3 bottle of mandarin orange vodka which i can't drink at the moment lol
