Mom was with Dad when i arrived yesterday so i gave her his Christmas pressie. She was quite pleased and liked the knickers, socks and earrings though it took her a few minutes to clock on that it was a gift to her from him! I told her Santa left it at my place by mistake.

I spend the UK midnight online with gramie_dee and later came out to Mom's since sis was out for the night as was my niece. We watched a pirate copy *koff* of the new Harry Potter movie and had pizza. gramie_dee was supposed to call for my midnight but the phone didn't ring even after i sent a text to see if he was still awake. Miracle, though, i got a text from him saying to turn off the answering machine. Huh? Well, it was a miracle because text messaging from UK to here hasn't been working for a couple of months, y'see. But the phone never rang! Anyway i called him and it turns out the number he was calling wasn't Mom's, two digits were transposed. Apparently, and i haven't seen the email yet (must look at Sent messages when i get home) i typed the number wrong! DOH! Someone has three message from a mad Brit on their answering machine lol!

Question about Harry Potter and the goblet of Fire.... In the movie, did they show any of the Quidditch cup match? The movie i saw showed the start at the huge stadium and the next thing i saw was the group starting to discuss who was still celebrating and then all of a sudden all hell breaks loose. It wasn't even evident until after that it was the Death Eaters. It was all very sudden, then over with and very confusing and not having seen it in the theatre, i wondered if the pirate copy was missing a chunk.

Ok, Mom and Laurie are off to see Dad so i'm off home to have a shower.

I hope 2006 brings everyone good fortune, peace and good health, and lots of nice things.

In the movie, did they show any of the Quidditch cup match?

Nope. You just see the build-up to it where they walk up to their seats (perplexingly up in the cheap seats, unlike in the book) and then the scene where they return to the tent, chat about it and get the party broken up in an overblown way by the pointyheads.

You're right. It isn't very clear. They compressed the first hundred pages or so of the book into about ten minutes.

My God! I didn't miss the stupid subplot about the house elves at all, thankfully they left that out. You really noticed how much they condensed a lot of the book to really the bare bones. Mind you the book did go on quite a bit more than it needed to as well. Thanks :)
