Gahhhhh i didn't sleep well last night. I guess i kept waking up expecting the alarm to go off or something. First day back to work, eh? And it's snowing. And it's going to snow and blow more tomorrow. Ah well. We've been spoiled for weather so far this winter so i suppose it's to be expected. At least, having given Mom back the car yesterday, i don't have to clean it off or shovel it out. Good timing there.
Work will be busy, catching up and getting up to speed. Half of the office is behind sheets of plastic where the renovations are underway. Not sure when our half will be done but i suppose i'll be packing up my desk within a few weeks. I don't know what they are going to do with us all while the renos and workstations are being built. Not everyone has the facilities to work from home. I have some of the stuff i need but not all of it.
Saw a movie on Saturday night, Mrs. Henderson Presents. Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins, as always, were superb and Thelma Barlow had a part in it as Judi's friend. Thelma was in Coronation Street as Mavis for 25 years. The part wasn't that remarkable really but it was nice to see her. It was a nice little movie about a widow who buys a theatre in the West End just before WWII and in order to compete and get bums in seats, endeavours to bring nudity to the stage. By law, they could only do it if the actors (women) didn't move so they staged the musical numbers around the women posed as statues artistically, using various props and shadowed lighting to disguise or de-emphasize the..er.."foliage" as the Lord Chamberlain put it.

Date: 2006-01-30 01:23 pm (UTC)I do find it odd when I see Corrie characters on the big screen though, such as the time Ian Mercer was in Master and Commander, all I could think was what was Gary Mallet doing there
