There are now commercials on television, mainly shown during the daytime (traditionally when housewives/mom/retiree *women* are home watching the soaps and Oprah), that's advertising Botox as a "cosmetic". This always makes me shudder. You all know that it's botulism that they're injecting into your face as a cosmetic, it's one of the most toxic things in the world though the teeny doses that they use for this cosmetic treatment won't hurt you..... they say. It freezes the muscles and was originally used for people that suffer painful muscle spasms. I think i'd be pretty wary of it being used for medical reasons anyway but at least that isn't vanity. You've all seen the after effects of Botox junkies on your tv and movie screens, women mostly, with faces as stiff as masks. It's refreshing to see a closeup of an actress with lines in her forehead and around her eyes even if it is packed on with makeup for the cameras. Ah well. I suppose it isn't a whole lot different than putting chemicals on your hair to cover over the grey, is it?
It sounds a lot worse though .

Still gross when you think about what's being injected...I think I'll stick to my laugh lines and other such wrinkles...when I get them.
