ABC is advertising a stunt by David Blaine. Can he hold his breath under water for 9 minutes?
It's a 2 HOUR SHOW! WTF? Why???? Endless interviews? Training shots?
Will it take 111 minutes to revive him?
Are there warm up acts? like..
How long can someone withstand being squeezed by a boa constrictor before they have their insides mushed?
How many boiled eggs can someone fit in their mouth until they choke?
Do we care?
Not I. This is just beyond ridiculous *and* sublime.

*goes off shaking head in despair for the human race that will sit for two hours and watch shite like that*

That's bloody amazing though. The current record is something like three minutes I think. (Well, it used to be in 1980 when I owned a copy of the guiness book of records).

I will be watching if it's shown here. :-)

Urk... Train wreck anyway? You know he'll survive. He's probably already done it in practicing. :) I bet he comes out with it with a face like a wet weekend ;))))

I'm the kind of guy who wouldn't want to watch something as entertainment if there was a significant chance of someone dying during it. :-)

I think it's more the 2 hour show i'm objecting to rather than the stunt itself. I can't imagine what kind of blather they're going to subject the viewers to for that long for 9 freakin minutes of stunt!

I bet those who will watch are hoping that he doesn't make it and dies a nasty death on nationwide TV. Ghouls!

"How long can someone withstand being squeezed by a boa constrictor before they have their insides mushed?"

Now THAT would be worth watching. ;)

Actually, there was a TV show on here a while ago on E4 (the channel that's full of crap no one watches) called um... Deathwish Live or something like that. Anyway it consisted of amatuer stunt men facing challenges. One particular guy who is famous for his stunts going wrong claimed he would escape padlocks and chains with a noose around his neck before he was hanged. Training involved being dragged around a car park by his neck (on a skateboard) by his dad with the rope attached to his car. Suffice to say, the stunt went wrong and he was hanged. Cameras went off and we waited a few minutes before they showed the guy being loaded in to an ambulance. That was better than if the stunt had worked... and they knew it lol.

It is one stunt I hope goes wrong, and I don't wish harm on any normal sane rational individual, usually, maybe...

;)

I was more put off by the 2 hour show! 30 minutes tops. show the guy under water, does he live or does he die or show them reviving him. Move on.

2 hours for a 9 minute stunt

Now the only way I could watch that is if one man, and one man alone instead of David blaine... Chris Angel the MINDFREAK...!!!!!!

That would be freaky, and worth it, instead of this purile, wanton excuss ofr mediocre claptrap

I figure he's been practicing and training so i am very much predicting he's already done it off camera and it's a done deal.
