ABC is advertising a stunt by David Blaine. Can he hold his breath under water for 9 minutes?
It's a 2 HOUR SHOW! WTF? Why???? Endless interviews? Training shots?
Will it take 111 minutes to revive him?
Are there warm up acts? like..
How long can someone withstand being squeezed by a boa constrictor before they have their insides mushed?
How many boiled eggs can someone fit in their mouth until they choke?
Do we care?
Not I. This is just beyond ridiculous *and* sublime.
*goes off shaking head in despair for the human race that will sit for two hours and watch shite like that*

Actually, there was a TV show on here a while ago on E4 (the channel that's full of crap no one watches) called um... Deathwish Live or something like that. Anyway it consisted of amatuer stunt men facing challenges. One particular guy who is famous for his stunts going wrong claimed he would escape padlocks and chains with a noose around his neck before he was hanged. Training involved being dragged around a car park by his neck (on a skateboard) by his dad with the rope attached to his car. Suffice to say, the stunt went wrong and he was hanged. Cameras went off and we waited a few minutes before they showed the guy being loaded in to an ambulance. That was better than if the stunt had worked... and they knew it lol.

Date: 2006-04-26 03:14 pm (UTC)That would be freaky, and worth it, instead of this purile, wanton excuss ofr mediocre claptrap
