Just want to let everyone know my sister Laurie is now an LJ user. [livejournal.com profile] sammantha If you want to stop by and say Hey.

In other news, the Ick factor has kicked in. Went to the dentist this morning for the semi annual radiation and scrape (x-rays and cleaning) and I mentioned a back molar that's been giving me a little trouble lately. I thought i might need a root canal but it turns out it's already had one. The Hygienist said the crown was a little loose and took extra xrays but the dentist is pretty sure the tooth or root underneath is cracked. The tooth was too fragile to withstand the root canal and crown in the long run and he says he can't save the tooth!!!!! that means an extraction and a bridge or something to put in so the other teeth don't realign. I think my insurance covers most if not all of the extraction but not sure about the bridge. Happy fucking new year LOL!

Snow

Seems London got snow overnight and has a lot of people excited about it, in spite of transportation delays, especially those who come from tropical climes like Down Undah and have never seen it before. Ok i'll give you that one. We don't get heaps of it here in Halifax, or only one winter in 6 or 7 do we get pounded with it. We get some, and often it rains away in a few days. snow does look very pretty on the ground and on the trees until the cars and the pollution make it gray and dirty. Snow is heavy and hard to shovel and the plow inevitably dumps more on your driveway after you've cleared it. What's worse here, by the ocean, is the cold damp wind that often comes along with snow, rain, freezing rain or alone just to piss everyone off and chill you to the bone.

A couple of winters ago, Toronto got so much that the mayor called in the Canadian Army to help clear the streets and suffered the slings and arrows of the ridicule of the rest of the country for being city wimps LOL! I don't mind it too much becuase i live in an apartment and don't have to shovel it and I don't have a car to scrape the ice off in the morning and heat up. IT's a pain getting to or from work when we're in the grips of a storm but if the storm is forecast ahead of time I can arrange to work from home.

Canadians that winter in the southern climes of the U.S. are called Snowbirds.

Enjoy the snow. Make snow angels. You did know that every flake is different, right? :)))
