One article in the paper today said that the over 2 billion dollars a day that they estimate for the Katrina cleanup is soon going to be as much as the cost per day of the war in Iraq. SOON?? How much are they spending FFS! To quote Yosemite Sam, GREAT Hornytoads! I knew they were bleeding money by the bucketful but at this rate, between the two, that country is going to be in serious financial trouble.

Tea tastes particularly good this morning. I think the water was hotter than usual. Coffee shop doesn't have boiling water but it's steaming hot and under pressure i think so better than just hot water sat there. The Cars were playing in the deli this morning :)

Our network at work launches new applications over a "launcher" software. This morning's did not go as smoothly as predicted. Never does on my machine for some reason but i think after one extra restart and a power off restart it has installed itself.

Going to have a rainstorm tommorrow, tail end of Hurricane Ophelia which has been downgraded to a tropical storm. Not going to be anything too serious just a lot of rain and wind faffing about. Messy day. And just when i was feeling well enough to think that i might go have a cruise at the mall too. Old Navy has opened up and i wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Maybe do a little C*******s shopping while i was at the mall. Probably still could if i take a cab i guess.

I cannot imagine the costs of Katrina, it's mind boggling to think of that kind of money. How can they possibly recover from such a debt load? You can only tax your people so much. This plus the war, where is the money going to come from, because they're already trillions of dollars in debt. I'd love to see that counter in Times Square where it calculates the country's debt by the second and it's just a blurr...can it really go any faster?

I've recently got involved with a group of people in the states who are trying to organise a series of shows called the "Whatever it Takes Tour". They will be benefit concerts to help victims of Katrina and I think it's really great of them. So much for being evil metal heads eh? lol. Anyway my involvement consists of announcing shows worldwide with dates/times/bands on my radio show along with mp3's of the bands taking part. It's not much but it's a help.

Yes I forgot to tell you about it, I'm only announcing show dates on the radio show but every bit helps.

It doesn't look to be Juan proportions but it'll be a messy nasty day and i imagine some areas could lose power.
